November is Jodhpur’s most confident month: dry, warm, festival-touched (Diwali some years, the wedding season opening), and the year’s most reliable walking weather. It’s the month the site’s itineraries were written for — and the month the crowd-avoidance moves earn their keep, because everyone else read the same calendar.

The weather in practice

Typical November runs roughly 12–13°C at dawn to 27–28°C by mid-afternoon; cool mornings, warm days, dry and clear throughout. The wedding season opens (expect safa-clad baraats through the lanes some evenings), and the Camel Fair window (in Pushkar and the season’s fairs) sits at the month’s edges some years.

What’s special this month

The honest costs and crowds

High season in full: rates near their ceiling on festival-adjacent dates, reservations needed for the good rooftops, and the fort’s queues real by mid-morning. The redistribution moves; 9 AM openings, market edges, the north axis, do their best work this month.

Questions worth asking

November or December?

November for the thinner crowds at the same weather; December for the festive peak and the cold-morning drama. Our honest pick for most travellers: the first half of November (see the December guide for the counter-case).

Do I need to book this far ahead?

For festival-adjacent dates, yes, months ahead. For regular November weeks, a few weeks ahead covers it.
