About Rajasthan Insider
Practical, honestly dated travel guides for Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Bikaner — and the method behind them.
Last updated: October 2026
Rajasthan Insider is a small, Jodhpur-based editorial team building what we couldn’t find: a travel guide to the Blue City that says where every number came from.
What we’ve built
Our Jodhpur library currently stands at 271 researched guides across seven areas — things to do, food and markets, where to stay, getting around, day trips, shopping and weddings — plus a practical layer covering visas, budgets, safety, etiquette and every month of the year. Each guide links into a hub so nothing sits alone.
How we work (and why we say so)
Every guide is built from cross-referenced, checkable sources — review platforms (TripAdvisor, Justdial, Google reviews, Zomato/Swiggy listings), local recommendation threads (including r/jodhpur), official sites, and existing publishers. We name the source for each claim. Where sources disagree, the disagreement stays in the text. Where we haven’t verified something, the page says so plainly.
We’re in our launch phase: guides are desk-researched and dated. Our next phase is on-site verification — a Jodhpur team visiting the places we write about, photographing them, re-checking every price board — and pages we’ve personally re-checked will be marked as verified with a fresh date. Local contributors who know these places better than any desk will be credited on exactly the pages where their information lands.
What we don’t do
- We don’t publish “ranked #1” verdicts we haven’t earned — recommendations are framed as research-based roundups until they’re verified first-hand.
- We don’t take payment for placement in any roundup. Sponsored content, if it ever exists, will be labelled on the page.
- We don’t fake first-hand experience. If we haven’t eaten there, the page doesn’t say we have.
Corrections and contributions
Run a place we’ve written about? Something changed, or we got it wrong? Write to us — corrections get re-checked and the page re-dated. If you’re a local with knowledge to contribute, that conversation is exactly what the next phase is for: see the contact page.
