Bhandasar is Bikaner’s finest Jain temple, a 15th-century shrine whose floor is covered in painted tiles of imported origin (their provenance is variously reported, verify), whose interiors carry mirror-and-gold work, and whose foundation legend (ghee instead of water in the mortar, thousands of kilos of it) is the story every guide tells as fact and should be heard as lore (the lore-vs-record method).
