Last updated: September 2026 · Method: desk research from tour platforms and our Osian research. Camp formats and prices vary by operator and season — all figures approx.

The Osian day trip has a night version, and it’s better: temples by afternoon light, dunes and camels at sunset, folk music and dinner at a desert camp, and a sky full of stars by ten. The Osian camp night is Jodhpur’s most accessible desert overnight — one hour from the city, no pack list beyond a jacket.

How the night runs

The camp tiers

Tier What it is Approx price/person
Standard desert camp Tents with beds, common bathrooms, folk show, buffet dinner-breakfast ~₹1,500–3,000 incl. safari (varies by season)
Luxury desert camp Swiss tents with attached baths, curated dining, better music ~₹3,500–8,000+
Budget/local Village-edge camps, simpler setups, friendlier prices ~₹1,000–1,800

Book via the platforms or direct; New Year and festival dates sell out early (see the NYE guide).

The season and the moon

October–March is camp season; summer nights are unmanageable and monsoon nights are a gamble (see the season guides). And book around the moon: full-moon nights give moonlit dunes (gorgeous, washed-out stars); new-moon nights give the Milky Way. Choose your sky.

Questions worth asking

Camp night or day trip?

The camp night is the upgrade we recommend in the day-trip guide: the dunes at night, the fire, the stars, and the morning light on the temples — all without a 9 PM highway drive. The day trip remains perfect for tight schedules.

What about bathrooms and charging?

Standard camps: shared, clean-enough bathrooms; the luxury tier has attached facilities. Charging exists at the camp common areas — bring the power bank for the tent hours.
