Winter, roughly November to February, is Ajmer at its most comfortable: fog on the lake at dawn, mild walking days, and cold nights that reward packed layers. Reports put daytime temperatures roughly in the low twenties Celsius, with December and January the busiest and most expensive months and February the quieter tail of the season. Everything outdoor works all day, from the fort climb to the lake circuits, and the qawwali evenings land at their coziest with the courtyard packed but the air kind. Book weekends ahead; this is the season the whole city runs for.
Winter is Ajmer at its most comfortable: fog on the lake, cold nights and the year’s coziest evenings.
- The fog: Ana Sagar puts on the classic lake-fog display.
- The cold: night temperatures drop, so pack layers.
- The bonus: the qawwali evenings land at their coziest.
