The Jaipur food walk is a single evening loop with four named stops, and it works because each stop covers a different street-food family, from fried breakfast food eaten at night to the lassi that ends the walk.
The route
- Rawat (pyaaz kachori) near Sindhi Camp, the reference counter, where the kachori comes out in trays all day.
- Lassiwala (MI Road), the original clay-cup lassi, morning institution that also serves the evening walker.
- Bapu Bazaar stalls, the bazaar food stretch for chaat and the chaat variety between shops.
- Masala Chowk, the food-court finale, where the whole Rajasthani snack menu sits in one walled court.
Nothing here is first-hand. The order matters: fried first, chaat second, sweets last, and split portions at every stop because four full servings defeat the walk. Go at dusk when the counters are at full output and the heat has dropped.
The evening version of the same route works too, compiled from walker reports: the counters run hot from six, Masala Chowk fills by eight, and the lassi stop flips to the end of the night. Whatever the hour, carry small notes; the counters do not take cards.
