Jodhpur has more day trips than days in most itineraries: temples, dunes, villages, sanctuaries, cranes, forts and lakes, all within a couple of hours. This guide is the chooser — matching each trip to the traveller, so you stop researching and start driving.

Questions worth asking

Which single trip for a two-day visit?

Osian at sunset, it’s the desert experience the city itself can’t provide, and it fits an afternoon. Everything else rewards longer stays (see the four-day plan).

How many day trips is too many?

Two in a three-day trip. The city’s own lanes are the third attraction, and skipping them for the highway is the classic over-planning error.
