📄 Image slot: an evening chaat route with counters lighting up around the city

Udaipur’s evening chaat circuit is a walkable loop of three stops and about two kilometres: ghat-side papdi as the lights come on, the Jagdish lane sev-puri stops, and a Sukhadia dessert to close. The street-food guide has an evening branch: a chaat circuit you can cover entirely on foot.

The circuit

  1. Start at the ghats: the ghat-side papdi counters as the lights come on.
  2. The lane middle: the Jagdish lane sev-puri and dahi-puri stops.
  3. Close the circle with the Sukhadia dessert that ends every circuit.

In total the circuit covers three stops and about two kilometres, an easy evening on foot.

The circuit follows the city’s own evening current. Start at the ghat-side counters as the lake lights come on, where the papdi chaat is made to order and the view comes free with the plate. The middle leg moves inland to the Jagdish lane stops, sev-puri and dahi-puri assembled at hand speed, the busiest and most reliable fry-and-serve counters in the old city. The closer is fixed by tradition: the Sukhadia circle dessert, kulfi or falooda, which ends every local version of the same evening. Two kilometres on foot, an hour and a half, small notes only, and the hygiene logic applies at every stop: busiest counters, bottled drinks, nothing that sat pre-cut. It is the best single food evening the city offers within one circuit.
