Four days is where Jodhpur stops being a stop and starts being a base. Days one and two are the classic city (see the core itinerary); day three goes deep; day four opens the desert gate. Here’s the four-day build — the version for travellers who decided this trip matters.

📷 Image slot — dunes at dusk with the day-four camel caravan, or the fort from the fourth viewpoint.

Days one and two: the city (as planned)

Day one: Mehrangarh at opening → Jaswant Thada → stepwell and market at dusk → rooftop dinner. Day two: blue lanes at dawn → Rao Jodha park → Umaid Bhawan museum in the hot hours → the market’s evening act. Both days are fully argued in the core itinerary — no need to repeat the details here.

Day three: the deep day (pick one)

Day four: the desert gate

Whichever you choose, book the car the day before, start by 9–10 AM, and pack the evening for one last rooftop — the fourth night’s goodbye is the best one, because by then you know the city.

Questions worth asking

Should day four be an overnight instead?

If the desert camp is calling, yes — an Osian camp night turns day four into the trip’s crescendo (see the camping guide). Jodhpur’s hotels will hold your big bags.

Five days?

Day five is the Jodhpur→Jaisalmer leg — the one-week Rajasthan plan takes over from here.
